Why I built Submet
A move should be exciting. Not stressful.
I'm Landry, a Division 1 baseball player at the College of Charleston. I've had my share of bad roommate situations, and every one of them added stress I didn't need. I lost money and a lot of time dealing with it, time I should have spent on school and the game.
You should feel confident you're moving in with people who are a great fit, and you shouldn't have to wait until you get there to find out. That's why I built Submet.

How do I find a summer sublet in Charleston?+
Join the waitlist with your dates, budget and vibes. When Charleston unlocks you can browse summer sublets near College of Charleston, Charleston Southern, MUSC and The Citadel, or post your own room for the summer.
Is Submet free?+
Joining the waitlist is free. Browsing listings and running your Vibe Check will be free too.
Do I have to be a student?+
No. Students get a Verified Student badge with their school email, and everyone else verifies a phone number. Interns, nurses, new grads and anyone between leases are welcome.
How do you keep out scams?+
Every post is checked by a real person before it goes live, and fake or suspicious listings come down fast. Never send money before you have seen the place and signed with the landlord.
Can I sublet if my lease doesn't mention it?+
Most leases need the landlord to approve a sublet. Ask yours first. Submet will ask you to confirm you have permission before your room goes live.
What is a lease takeover?+
If you need out of your lease for good, someone takes it over for the rest of the term instead of just a few months. Your landlord has to approve it, and Submet can write that request for you.
When does my city open?+
Each city unlocks once it hits a set number of sign-ups, enough that you will have real matches on day one. Any city can unlock, and every sign-up counts, so invite your friends to get yours there faster. We will email you the moment your city goes live.
